Pan-Europe and Global Fixed Income (2016)
Institutional Investor magazine’s 2016 U.S. and European Investment Management Awards recognize U.S. and European money managers in 39 and 24 asset classes, respectively, who stood out in the eyes of the investor community for their exceptional performance, risk management and service. Institutional Investor analyzed the data in the asset classes, reviewing 2015 returns, 1-, 3-, and 5-year annualized returns, Sharpe ratio, information ratio, standard deviation and/or upside market capture. From that analysis, Institutional Investor culled a list of the top 10 to 20 U.S. money managers, including the previous year’s winner, and the top 4 to 5 European money managers in each category for a questionnaire that was distributed to more than 1000 institutional investors in the U.S. and dozens in Europe, respectively, including, among others, defined-benefit pension funds and endowments / foundations (some of which may have included current or former clients of Stone Harbor), who were asked to choose the top 3 managers in each category from the pre-selected list or to ‘write-in’ nominations. Manager winners were selected by the editors of the magazine based on the results of the surveys after the 4-week polling periods and were announced in April 2016.
